Abstract

This Article will analyze light pollution that trespasses from one property onto another’s property, and the lack of an amicable way to resolve this issue through existing laws. The growth of oil production in West Texas has led to issues with individual landowners and research organizations regarding light emitted from oil rigging lights. Specifically, the McDonald Observatory is one research facility that has been negatively impacted by the increased nightglow from artificial lighting.
