Abstract
In this chapter, I address the intersection between comparative law and intellectual property (IP) law and the role of comparative legal analysis as a research methodology for IP scholars. Although several generations of IP scholars have engaged in comparative legal analysis as part of their research agenda for many decades, a limited number of contributions can be found addressing the role of comparative law in IP research from a methodological and conceptual perspective. In this chapter, I build upon my previous research in this area1 and hope to offer some useful observations to fill this gap.
