Abstract
The point is that Hadley v. Baxendale's limitation of damages to foreseeable damages allowed the rapid growth of commerce in the middle years of the industrial revolution, while the emergence of an international data privacy commitment will allow for the growth of E-commerce in the digital age, at least in the long term, by ultimately fostering buyer confidence in the integrity of internet sales of goods and services.
